ifilm has conducted an exclusive interview with Abdorreza Akbari whose 'Operation 125' was aired on ifilm.

ifilm has conducted an exclusive interview with Abdorreza Akbari who has acted as a fire fighter in 'Operation 125', aired on ifilm.

ifilm: You have acted in various TV series and some were well received by the viewers . Even after some years, when those series are rebroadcast, many viewers enjoy watching them for the second time. What is the secret?

Akbari: Yes, it’s true. One of such series was ‘Born Again.’ Though it has been shown many times on different channels, people are still interested. I think there are numerous elements in every TV show’s success namely good screenplay and good actors. Nowadays there is hastiness at the expense of quality; hasty works instead of quality works. The number of TV channels has increased, and to meet their demand for films and series, filmmakers have to work in haste.

ifilm: It is said that you want to try your luck in directing movies. Is it true?

Akbari: I don’t think it’s a matter of luck. I believe on should have the necessary skills to do a job. About directing, it is not certain, yet. But being a movie director has always been my concern and I prefer to work in that field, when I’m ready.

ifilm: Regarding acting, why aren’t you as active as before?

Akbari: This year, ‘The Enigma of the Shah’ took up most of my time. But at present, I’ve come to the conclusion that most screenplays are merely repetitions of the old ones.

ifilm: You have played many roles in historical dramas, but perhaps late Imam Khomeini (PBUH) is the most significant role you have played, isn’t it?

Akbari: That’s true. That role was very special to me. I had never thought that one day I could play the role. When they offered the role, I was shocked. I accepted the role under a lot of stress, because I didn’t know how I was chosen. I wasn’t sure about my likeness to late Imam Khomeini (PBUH). But after they applied the makeup, they started shooting. I was familiar with the way late Imam Khomeini (PBUH) talked and walked. But to play the roles of public figures is a risk few dare to take, because most people know those figures.
